Early on this year, I got the opportunity to enter a logo creating competition. The Portland Hearts of Pine, the women semi-pro soccer team in Portland Maine, needed a new logo for their team, “The Lightkeepers”. This is the final logo that I came up with and submitted.
- A lighthouse (for obvious reason)
- A soccer ball to symbolize the sport
- A nest to represent that the “Lightkeepers” have found their home in Portland
- The North Star at the top to symbolize how Maine is the first state in the US to see the sunlight
- 3 different types of trees in the foreground. (Oak, Pine, and Maple)
- Birds flying in the lightbeam to represent the vast and large amount of wildlife that Maine holds
